After nearly 15 years in business, Best Granite outside Lewes has changed its name to Henlopen Granite and is under new ownership.

Sisters Jennifer Chojnowski and Beth Fitzgerald bought the business in January. Chojnowski has been working there since 2015.

“I love the stone industry, and the previous owner was looking to sell,” said Chojnowski, who worked in the medical field prior to getting into the business. “I really enjoy working with customers to figure out what’s going to best work for their kitchens and bathrooms.”

Fitzgerald, who retired from the education field in July, said she wanted to do something new, and getting into business with her sister seemed like a fun idea.

Chojnowski said Henlopen Granite is a one-stop shop for customers – design, fabrication and install; bathrooms, outside grills, kitchen countertops and wet bars; commercial and residential. It offers everything under one roof, she said.

Located near the Five Points intersection on Route 1, behind Creative Concepts and beside Mr. Tire Auto Service Center off Tulip Drive, Henlopen Granite will continue to offer customers the same high-quality products they came to expect under the previous owners, said Chojnowski. The exotic stone selection comes from all over the world, including Italy and Brazil, she said.

Henlopen Granite is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and by appointment as needed.
